Setting: In-Home
- Cared for an 86-year-old lady with dementia, previous falls, heart problems and previous open-heart operation. The elderly weighed 120kg.
- Assisted in walking with a walking frame. Used a wheelchair when going outside.
- Assisted in Activities of Daily Living including showering (together with a part-time 2-hour caregiver as the elderly had experienced falls before Honeylyn joined and developed a fear of falling), toileting (sometimes), changing diapers (including at night), dressing, walking and getting into and out of bed.
- Slept in a separate room. Woke up about 2 times at night to check and change diapers.
- Brought the elderly outdoors to get some fresh air.
- Assisted home visit therapist with therapy exercises.
- Due to dementia,
- The elderly would forget where she had placed her items. Sometimes, she would accuse Honeylyn of taking her items. Sometimes she would become hysterical and Honeylyn would talk to her slowly and help her relax and then find the items together.
- The elderly would forget if she had eaten and ask to eat again. Honeylyn would give her something small to eat like yoghurt or biscuits.
- The elderly would refuse to do certain activities like taking her medication. Honeylyn would give her some time before asking again.
- Prepared and served medications.
- Accompanied for medical appointments with one of the elderly’s children.
- Performed housework, grocery shopping and cooking.
- Cared for the elderly until she passed away.

- Assisted in walking with a walking frame. She was still independent and able to perform showering and toileting by herself.

- Due to dementia,
- The elderly would forget where she had put her items. She would remember after several hours.
- The elderly was very particular about how her items were placed and would get upset if certain things are not arranged according to the way she wanted.
- Prepared and served medications.
- Accompanied for medical appointments.
- Performed housework, grocery shopping (together with the elderly) and cooking.
- After more than 4 years, her children decided to place her in the nursing home and did not require a caregiver anymore, hence, Honeylyn did not continue caring for her.

Setting: In-Home
- Cared for a 75-year-old lady with Parkinson’s Disease, dementia and heart problem (pacemaker). Her left hand was weak and she was unable to control it. The elderly was resistant to having a caregiver to help her out. Honeylyn would be alert and pay attention to assist her and be beside with her wherever she went.
- She was able to walk by herself. Honeylyn would be beside her to prevent falls.
- The elderly was resistant to having a caregiver take care of her and wanted to perform her Activities of Daily Living herself as much as possible. When the elderly was resistant to her assistance, Honeylyn would stay beside her and assist as needed. Assisted in Activities of Daily Living including showering using commode (the elderly would wash herself and Honeylyn would be inside the bathroom with her to assist in bringing her the items), toileting (the door would be open and Honeylyn would wait outside as assist her as needed), dressing, walking (Honeylyn would be beside her to prevent falls) and getting into and out of bed (sometimes).
- Slept in a separate room. Woke up at night to assist her to the toilet whenever she heard noises or commotion as the elderly did not want to wake her for assistance.
- Accompanied the elderly everywhere she went.
- Assisted in exercises.
- Prepared and served medications.
- Accompanied for medical appointments with one of the elderly’s children.
- Performed housework and grocery shopping (together with the elderly). Assisted the elderly in preparing the food and cooking.
- Cared for the elderly until she passed away from a heart attack.
